Sandra J. Hanson Muller
August 22, 1959 - March 11, 2019
Sandra “Sandy” Muller passed from the loving arms of her earthly family into the waiting arms of her heavenly family on March 11, 2019 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She was born on August 22, 1959 in Rapid City to Donald and Martha Hanson, where she spent her life.
Sandy graduated with honors from Central High School, class of 1977. She married the love of her life, Donald Muller on March 24th 1979. He knew she was “the one” from the moment he laid eyes on her. Together they had three children that she was so proud of; Craig, Caitlin, and Cassidy. She dedicated her life to her family, and cherished having everyone together. Family holidays and traditions were especially important, and she frequently had tears of joy in her eyes when surrounded by her children. Being a loving grandmother to Rylan, Layne, and Jaxson was one of her favorite things. Sandy also considered her pets family, as she cared for many throughout her life. She never met an animal that she didn’t love.
She loved riding on motorcycles in her younger years and spending time outdoors in the Black Hills, specifically family reunions at Legion Lake. She was a talented gardener and loved enjoying her flower garden on hot, sunny days. She loved cheering on her children and grandchildren in all of their sports and activities.
Sandy was full of love and life, with a contagious laugh and huge heart. Her loss will be felt every day by all of her family and friends. We will miss her deeply.
She is survived by her husband Donald, children Craig (Lisa), Caitlin, and Cassidy Muller, grandchildren Rylan, Layne and Jaxson, sister Janet (Rick) Wipf, brother Bradley (J.J.) Hanson, sister-in law Trish Hanson, Nieces and Nephews Tami (Steve Luken) Wipf, Todd (Cathy) Wipf, Tim Wipf, Kelli (Jason) Poppenhagen, Kyle (Caitlin) Hanson, Dan Hanson, David (Mandy) Hanson, grandnephews Tanner, Trevor, Dylan, Karsten, Jaren, Liam, grandniece Tatum, and numerous extended family that all meant a great deal to her.
She was preceded in passing by her parents Donald and Martha Hanson, brother Larry Hanson, and many aunts and uncles that she remembered fondly.
Memorials for Sandy may be sent to Kirk Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at South Park United Church of Christ on Friday March 15th at 10AM.
