Jeffery C. Phelps, 50, Rapid City, SD died Monday, April 27, 2009 at his residence.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City with Pastor Dale Bartscher officiating.

Jeff was born August 27, 1958 at Schwandorf, Germany to Leo and Kay (Smith) Phelps. The family moved to the United States in 1960 and lived in Michigan. In 1965, the family moved to the Rapid City area.

He attended Brown Institute in Minneapolis, MN and received a degree in Radio Announcing. Throughout the years, Jeff worked at various jobs including; carpet layer, welder, construction, and lately as a painter and drywaller.

Jeff enjoyed socializing with family and friends.

A memorial has been established.

Survivors include his mother, Kay Phelps, Rapid City; brother, Rick (Joni) Phelps, Keystone, SD; nephews, Dan Phelps and Josh Phelps, Rapid City; great nephew, Kolton

Phelps, Rapid City; aunt, Veo Jacob, Ft. Pierre, SD; and special friend, Marvia Ray, Rapid City.

He was preceded in death by his father.
