LEONARD GREGERSON
Leonard Gregerson, 57, passed away on February 18, 2017.
Leonard was born September 7th, 1959 in Hot Springs to Leo and Alice Gregerson. Leonard lived on the family ranch outside of Fairburn, SD his whole life, and there wasn’t any other place he would rather be. Leonard grew up helping his dad run the family ranch and he was proud to be at his father’s side every day he was on this earth. There wasn’t one person who didn't recognize his warm smile and heart of gold. On a night out in Rapid City, he met Patty Jo Frisch, where she was tending bar. There was an instant connection. The next day they were engaged and 6 weeks later they were united in marriage. To this union, 4 children were born; Kara, Kelly, Kaycie, and Kyle. They were very well loved by him. It wasn't a secret to others that he was very proud of his children. Not only did he have 4 children, he also had 4 best friends.
Leonard enjoyed having a good laugh and lending a helping hand. He was always early to where he needed to be and he would always be the last one to leave. There is not anyone that he would not lend a helping hand to. There wasn't any better music to his ears than the sound of a new born baby calf, or a better smell than cow manure (he always said that was the smell of money). His cattle were his passion and there was not any one better at knowing a cow then our dad. He was a man of his word and to him a handshake meant something, and it was still a sign of trust and honor. His smile and his laugh will sorely be missed by all who knew and loved him. We are not big believers that words can measure a man’s life, and if we were, there are not enough words in the world for our dad. He was one of a kind and the mold was definitely broken the day he was born. Dad didn't want anyone to be sad when he passed; he just wanted everyone to celebrate his life, because we all knew he would want that.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Patty; children, Kara Webster, Kelly (Derek) DeYong, Kaycie Gregerson, and Kyle (Kelli) Gregerson; and two granddaughters who were the apples of his eye, Brynn and Autumn.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at a later date.
