BROOMFIELD, Colo.  -  Peter G. “Pete” Klauck, 57, died Dec. 19, 2016 after a brief and courageous battle with brain cancer. Pete was born on March 30, 1959, in Littleton to Mary and Jack Klauck. He was raised in Rapid City, SD, the third of seven children.

Pete graduated from Rapid City Central High School in 1977. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country for four years in places such as Camp Pendleton in Southern California and Okinawa, Japan. After his military service, Pete earned a Bachelor’s Degree in finance from Arizona State University.

He returned to Rapid City for his 10-year class reunion where he met his bride Patricia Jo “Patty” Anderson. Pete and Patty were married on April 30, 1988 in Rapid City. They made their home in Broomfield, where they raised their three children: Peter, Jake, and Annie. All three children graduated from Broomfield High School. Peter graduated from Boston College, in Boston, MA; Jake from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX; and Annie attends Northeastern University in Boston.

Pete’s Catholic faith and his family formed the center of his life. When not with his family, he was working as a bank examiner for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. (FDIC). At the time of his retirement in January 2016, Pete had worked for the FDIC for 29 years.

Pete was the heart of both sides of his family, arranging fun gatherings and activities and always putting the concerns of his family members above his own. Pete was genuinely interested in everyone he met and made every person feel special. Pete was taken from us way too soon and the devastation his family feels cannot be put into words.

Pete is survived by his beloved wife Patty and their children Peter, Jake, and Annie. Also surviving are six siblings: John (Charis) Klauck and their children Jennifer (Eric) Kreitz, Julie (Ed) Stapanon, and Jill (Mike) Pierce; Mary (Dan) Rule and their children Jeff (Jen) and Eric Rogers: Reverend Michael Klauck: Tim (Kay) Klauck and their children Mary, Therese, and Catherine: Marty (Duke) Paluch and their children Matt and Thomas: and Joan (Karl) Adam and their children Katherine, Conrad, Jack, Phillip, and Paul: his Mother-in-law, Joan Anderson: Sister-in-law, Wendy (Dennis) Hanken and their children Nicole (Greg) Sears, and Jill (Cory) Hibbard: Sister-in-law Connie (Gary) Merritt and their children Krista, Alex, Tyler (deceased), and Lindsey: sister-in-law, Debra (Tom) Throgmorton and their children Kaitlyn and Brett: sister-in-law, Jeanie (Luis) Maese: and brother-in-law Bill (Loni) Anderson and their children Bill and Brittney. Pete is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and great-nieces and nephews.

Rest in peace, Pete.
