Escondido, California. – Paul Wesley Sonneman, 44, Escondido, CA, died Wednesday, February 4, 2004 as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident near Reliance, SD. Paul was born August 4, 1959, to Lawrence and Laurelle (Backer) Sonneman at Vermillion, SD.
In 1965 Paul moved with his family from Clarinda, IA to Rapid City. He attended Rapid City Central High School, where he was a member of the debate team and graduated in 1977. Paul attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD and San Jose State in California and received an Associates Degree in computer networking.
Paul was in the US Navy from 1994 to 2001. Paul was spending 3 months in Rapid City with his brother Mark. (Mark also died in the accident).
Paul is survived by his sister, Jean Sonneman, Washington D.C., and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Diehl officiating. Full military honors will be provided by VFW post #1273 Honor Guard and interment will follow.
